Indian Orthodox Church at St. Mary’s

We’re delighted to welcome the Mar Baselious Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church Southampton to St. Mary’s!

Join us for the Holy Qurbana (Divine Liturgy) on the second Sunday of each month, from 12pm to 4pm (1pm – 5pm Sunday 12th October). Everyone is welcome to experience this rich and ancient worship tradition.

The Mar Baselious Gregorios Indian Orthodox Church Southampton is part of the Malankara Orthodox Syrian Church, commonly known as the Indian Orthodox Church. This vibrant Christian community traces its origins back to St. Thomas the Apostle in India, making it one of the world’s most ancient Christian traditions. Our Church headquarters are located in Kottayam, Kerala, South India.

Under the Diocese of UK-Europe and Africa, headquartered in London, our church is one of seventy parishes spanning the United Kingdom, Ireland, mainland Europe, South Africa, and Nigeria. We are committed to nurturing the spiritual lives of our faithful and contributing to the broader Christian witness through worship, service, and dialogue.
