St Mary’s churchyard includes a dedicated Conservation Area—a special space lovingly cared for by a group of local volunteers.  This is a community project—open to all, not just churchgoers—and we would love you to join us in caring for this beautiful and peaceful part of our parish.

All are very welcome—whether you’re a regular helper or a first-time volunteer. Just come along in gardening clothes, bring gloves, and we’ll provide the tools.

Sessions Run on the:

• 1st Saturday morning of the month from 10am, for about three hours and include a coffee break and a chance to relax together.
• 4th Thursday of the month from 2pm, for around two hours.

Our Conservation Area is not only a place to nurture local biodiversity—it’s a space for the whole community to enjoy. Take a peaceful walk, listen to the birdsong, or enjoy a moment of quiet reflection on the WI bench, a tranquil spot within our busy parish.

Whether you join a working party or simply come to enjoy the beauty of nature, this is your space too.  Come and see what you can discover—you might be surprised by the beauty just waiting to be found.
