About us as a Church

St Mary’s is more than just a beautiful building—it’s a welcoming, prayerful, and outward-looking church family, rooted in Christian faith and open to all.

We are proud to be part of the Inclusive Church network, affirming that everyone is welcome here—regardless of age, gender, race, ability, sexuality, or background. We believe the church should reflect the full breadth and beauty of God’s creation, and we aim to live that out in all we do.

Our worship is central to our life together, but faith continues beyond Sunday. We are actively involved in the wider community—supporting local and national charities, offering pastoral care, hosting events, and being a visible, compassionate presence in village life.

We value our close ties with local schools, welcoming pupils to the church for visits, services, and special projects, and supporting RE and collective worship with creativity and care. These relationships are a vital part of how we share faith, nurture curiosity, and build community across generations.

We are also an Eco Church, committed to caring for creation. We work to adopt sustainable practices, protect biodiversity, and maintain our beautiful churchyard and conservation area as a place of peace for people and wildlife alike.

Behind the scenes, dedicated volunteers help care for our church building, grounds, and parish room, ensuring these much-loved spaces are safe, welcoming, and well looked after for generations to come.
